Johnson County Emergency Services District No. 1
JCESD No 1.
Latest
What (are we talking about) and Why:
Deciding a proposition to authorize the collection of a sales and use tax in Johnson County Emergency Services District No. 1, at a rate not to exceed 2% in any location in the district. This proposition is NOT a property tax increase. Your ESD No. 1 Board of Commissioners believes the adoption of a sales and use tax represents the least impact to our citizens, and will help avoid property tax increases in the future.
The Emergency Services District No. 1 has identified the need for additional revenue to replace aging equipment such as fire engines, which routinely cost as much as a half-a-million dollars, procure additional emergency equipment, provide additional training to our dedicated emergency services personnel and make much needed improvements to the fire stations in our district.
